This course is for junior-level human resource (HR) professionals, and supervisors and line managers who have HR responsibilities. It is also appropriate for HR professionals whose experience has been in a single functional area, for persons exploring HR as a career, and for business managers with employees but not an HR department. Six topic areas are covered, including an introduction to human resource management, followed by modules on employment law, recruitment and selection, compensation, employee development, and performance management.     SHRM Hawaii undertook a comprehensive comparison of dues rates and services across organizations here in Hawaii and other states. SHRM Hawaii dues have remained far below comparable organizations for more than ten years.

    To provide excellent service to SHRM Hawaii members, the SHRM Hawaii board has endorsed the dues rates effective September 1, 2014 as follows:

    $75 Oahu
    $59 Maui
    $50 Hawaii Island
    Kauai membership dues will remain at $45
