Aloha and Welcome to the SHRM Hawaii Educational Foundation Big Island District
We invite you to attend our workshops, typically held every other month. Our workshops strive to provide training material to help HR professionals address topics such as succession planning, measuring the ROI of training programs, and compliance issues. We hope to see you at one of our workshops!
GET-A-L.I.F.E. Launched on the Big Island!
Free speakers from the local business community offer teachers a supplemental curriculum for 9th through 12th grade.
HELP YOUR STUDENTS GET-A-LIFE!
Get-A-Life volunteer speakers provide educators with 1 to 2 hours of classroom time (Two 50-minute sessions) at no cost! Using small group activities, role playing and demonstrations, the program will:
- Support "school to career" education;
- Help students become more workforce ready; and
- Open a dialogue between local employers and students.
Volunteer instructors come to your classroom and use interactive activities to show students the importance of communication and how to present themselves to potential employers. Instructors will also introduce tools to help students develop job-seeking skills and help motivate young people prepare for a brighter future as productive and reliable workers.
